There Are Such Things As "Free"

I always hear the phrase that says "nothing in this world comes free, you will have to pay for it one way or another." It's true in most cases when deeds are done between fallen human beings, but it's not true when it's God who gives them.

1. Oxygen. With the haze that recently happened in Singapore, I realize I cannot take clean air for granted. Being able to breath clean air is God's blessing!

2. Water. Maybe water is not free in some parts of the world, but in most places, water is easily available and inexpensive.

3. Sun. Our sun is powerful. It provides light, vitamin D, and supports complex life processes such as photosynthesis and many growth processes.

4. Salvation. Jesus died on the cross to save us from eternal damnation. Salvation is free but it's not cheap. It costs the life of Jesus Christ.

Can you imagine if we have to pay for the air we breath?
Can you imagine if water is scarce and expensive?
Can you imagine if there is no sun?
Can you imagine if we have to work our way to achieve God's standard of perfection to attain salvation? None of us will get there because all of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

"He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit." - Titus 3:5

"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." - Ephesians 2:8-9

Dear friends, some things in life are given free by our Lord, but the most important one of all is salvation. It is free, but we have to accept it to receive it. It is by grace, through faith. God is a great God and He forgives our sin. Accept Him in your heart and He will never let you go.

Please let me know how I can be praying for you today.
